How to Pronounce Rooibos

Before you take a sip, learn how Rooibos tea is pronounced. The word Rooibos is pronounced ROY-bows or ROY-bus. Either pronunciation is fine.

Rooibos tea is an herbal tea made from a plant native to the West Cape of South Africa.

Rooibos tea is a slightly earthy tea that is naturally caffeine free. It has a natural sweetness that is gentle and smooth. Rather than turning bitter, a longer steep creates a fuller-bodied flavor bringing out the warm nutty aroma. 

Honeybush is a sister plant to Rooibos. It is also native to South Africa, but grown on the East Cape. Honeybush is also naturally caffeine herbal tea, however, it is fuller bodied and sweeter with undertones of wood and honey.
