Similar to Teavana Samurai Chai Maté

Our Samurai Spirit Maté is an elegant balance of Yerba Mate tea with chai spices and tropical fruit undertones, creating a delicious, energizing cup full of flavor.

The amazing depth of the Samurai Chai Maté loose leaf tea blend is the ultimate Teavana replacement. Read our reviews and you’ll see many customers who agree!

What is Yerba Mate?

Popular in parts of South America, the leaves and twigs of the yerba mate plant are dried and steeped in hot water to make an herbal tea. Yerba mate can be enjoyed as a hot or iced mate tea.

Does Yerba Mate have caffeine?

Yes, if you are feeling a bit sluggish and need help with mental focus, Yerba Mate may do the trick. Looking for an alternative for coffee? Yerba Mate has a moderate level of caffeine that may help regenerate your energy level, but steeps in with less caffeine than a cup of coffee.

Is Yerba Mate tea a good tea to blend?

Yes! The chai spice and fruit undertones of this mate blend make it a perfect pairing companion for other Chai teas such as White Ayurvedic Chai. We recommend blending these teas with a 1:1 ratio and brew the blend at the White Chai temperature. The result is a smooth, delicious mate tea blend with a spicy/fruity flavor. Adjust your steep time depending on your strength preference.

Other teas that include cinnamon, ginger, or masala spices also blend well with a yerba mate. If you experiment with the stronger spiced teas, we suggest steeping no longer than 5 minutes, with just-below-boiling water temperature. This creates a spicy and sweet blend that'll keep you coming back for more.

CAFFEINE LEVEL: Moderate

STEEP at 212° for 5-10 minutes.

INGREDIENTS:  Yerba maté tea, green rooibos tea, cinnamon bark, ginger root, cardamom, orange peels, lemongrass, aniseed, almond, papaya, spicy cinnamon flavors, mango, and pineapple pieces.

Fantastic!

I have been looking for a Teavana replacement for years - this might even be better!
I mix the Samurai Spirit Mate (1/3) with the Maharaja Chai Oolong (2/3), and it creates my favorite depth and flavor profile. Concerned I might be addicted!

Divine!!

I missed this flavor after the Teavana close out, it was one of my favorites. I strongly recommend, relaxation flavor.

The best teavana dupe

I’ve never been a big tea drinker, but one day when I was walking through the mall I decided to try the testers Teavana had out front and fell in love with the samurai chai/ maharaja chai blend. When they closed I needed to find something that would be close and I think this is better! I blend this 50/50 with maharaja chai oolong. So rich and so good!

Very yummy

Tasty and just like the Samurai Chai I used to get from Teavanna

Delicious

Finally, a replacement for Teavana.
