What is Rooibos Tea?
Rooibos is an herb indigenous to the mountainous region just north of Cape Town, South Africa where locals have been harvesting and brewing it for hundreds of years. Even though it is harvested and processed similarly to tea, Rooibos is not truly a tea as it doesn't come from the Camellia Sinensis plant. When harvested and dried, rooibos becomes a reddish-brown herbal infusion known as “African red tea” or “red bush tea”.
