Must-Try Autumn Loose Leaf Teas

teas for autumn

Once again the seasons are about to change. As with the transformation of the weather, my tea preferences shift as well. This is because every tea invokes a different seasonal feel for me. In the spring I find myself attracted to the fruit-forward herbal teas. During summer I enjoy lemongrass and peppermint for a refreshing break. But Autumn….my favorite time of year...is just around the corner, and with it comes my favorite flavors of tea.

I think fall is the perfect time of year to try new tea flavors or experiment by blending some of your personal faves. The weather starts turning cooler. The leaves begin their transformation into the beautiful amber hues. And with the first bit of crispness in the air, you know autumn has arrived. Time to steep a cup and sit outside to soak it all in.

Some teas just sound like fall don't you think? Apples, cinnamon, spices, warm nutty flavors...let me share with you some teas that will help you welcome in the change of seasons.

Pumpkin Spice Tea

Nothing says fall better than Pumpkin Spice tea. If you love pumpkin spice, this herbal honeybush tea with Masala chai spices and a hint of pumpkin is one you should add to your cabinet. The crisp and tangy-sweet flavor created from the spices balances with the mellow, smooth flavor of the honeybush tea.

Maharaja Oolong Chai

A cinnamon lover's dream come true! Very similar to Teavana's Maharaja Chai blend of cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, chicory, and cocoa nibs with a smooth oolong. Plus the addition of a bit of Masala spice creates a savory and spicy cup. A little splash of milk accents the spicy-sweet richness of Maharaja Oolong Chai! Absolutely delicious when blended with Samurai Spirit Maté...

Cinnamon Apple Spice Tea

A warm cup of apple cider! The delicious blend of cinnamon bark, ginger root, cardamom, orange peels, cloves, apple pieces, and natural apple create a lively black tea blend in Cinnamon Apple Spice.

White Ayurvedic Chai

I know I have mentioned this before but if you are missing your Teavana favorite, you have found it with our White Ayurvedic Chai. This energizing spiced twist on chai has delicate flavors of white tea blended with chai and zesty notes of ginger, lemongrass, coconut, and pineapple. The result? Fruit and spice flavors with an essence of cinnamon.

This is the perfect tea to blend with Samurai Spirit Chai Maté. (An amazing maté blend and such a hot seller!) The maté is an elegant blend of ginger root, cardamom, orange peels, lemongrass, aniseed, almond, papaya, spicy cinnamon flavors, mango, and pineapple pieces culminating into a graceful mosaic of flavors.

Dancing Vanilla Bean

Vanilla. Another quintessential fall flavor, right? This South African red rooibos base blends Masala chai spices with a hint of vanilla. The spices and creamy vanilla blend to perfection in Dancing Vanilla Bean Vanilla Chai. Rooibos is a naturally caffeine-free tea, so you can enjoy it any time of the day or night. We prefer two heaping teaspoons per 6 oz cup. Sugar, cream, or soy if you want to sweeten your cup.

Spiced Masala Chai

You’ve probably recognized a common thread through these teas I have mentioned - the masala spices. Our Spiced Masala Chai tea is a premium Ceylon black tea. The cloves, the cinnamon, the cardamon, and the ginger make it a perfect flavor for fall.

Creme Brulee Tea

It must be something about all those beautiful apples that ripen in fall. Our Creme Brulee tea blends the smokey flavor of Gunpowder tea with bright tangy apples and rose hips. Sipping a cup is like taking a misty morning walk with the scent of autumn in the air. The touch of cinnamon and creme brulee flavors warm you like your favorite blanket.
