INGREDIENTS

  • 4 tsp of Candy Cane Lane tea
  • 2 c unsweetened, dark chocolate
  • ½ c milk chocolate chips
  • 1 c white chocolate chips
  • 1 T cocoa powder
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 c unsalted butter, (bring up to room temperature)
  • 1 T vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ c sugar
  • ½ c flour
  • ½ T baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 T cream
  • 2 large candy canes (crush into small pieces)

DIRECTIONS

STEP 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

STEP 2: Steep Candy Cane tea in 3/4 c of water heated to 200 degrees for 5 minutes. Dispense into small bowl.

STEP 3: Heat one cup of water in medium saucepan on medium low. Once water begins to boil, place a glass bowl on top of saucepan. Don't allow the water to touch the bottom of the bowl.

STEP 4: Add butter, dark chocolate and tea into the glass bowl. Stir until melted, and remove from heat. Allow to cool slightly.

STEP 5: In a large mixing bowl, blend sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add melted chocolate. Reserve some chocolate for finishing drizzle.

STEP 6: Sift dry ingredients together (flour, baking powder, cocoa and salt). Add to mixing bowl and blend well.

STEP 7: Using parchment paper, line a deep baking dish (3").

STEP 8: Pour brownie mixture into baking dish. Sprinkle flour over chocolate chips and gentle stir into the brownie mixture.

STEP 9: Bake for 30 minutes, rotating the pan every ten minutes. (This ensures consistent baking.)

While the brownies bake, melt remaining white chocolate chips and cream in glass dish over medium pot of water as done in Step 3.

When brownies are done, remove pan from oven and cool to room temperature. Drizzle brownies with the white chocolate mixture and reserved dark chocolate blend. Sprinkle crushed candy canes over the top of the brownies.
